Texas Drivers Handbook Practice Test

If you fail to receive the renewal notice card for your license, sending in an application for renewal is the most proactive and effective action to take. This option ensures that you are taking the necessary steps to maintain your driving privileges without delay. By submitting a renewal application, you can initiate the renewal process regardless of whether you received the notice.

Waiting for another notice can lead to the risk of your license expiring, which could result in penalties or being unable to legally drive in Texas. Renewing automatically online may not be possible if you haven't received the renewal notice, as certain online systems may require that specific documentation be present. Calling to check your status might provide some information, but it does not solve the issue of renewing your license in a timely manner. Therefore, sending in an application for renewal directly addresses the need to keep your driver's license current.
